John lives with his parents and four siblings in a small space where they all sleep on the floor. He wants to become an engineer so he can build a big house for his family. He is the youngest of the children. His mother sells home-cooked meals by the roadside and his father is a casual worker. In school, John's favorite subject is religious education because he gets to learn about God.

Primary School
Vipingo is a rural slum area located in Kilifi district in Coast Province. Located along the coastline near Mombasa, Kenya, MCF rescues, rehabilitates and educates orphans and other vulnerable children from the surrounding community who have been largely affected by child sex tourism. Our day center offers a free nutritious meal to all the children while our formal education program ensures access to quality education. The MCF In His Grace primary school currently has approximately 270 students.
