Frequently Asked Questions

Q: HOW DO I SPONSOR A CHILD OR VIEW MY SPONSORSHIP ACCOUNT?

A: The easiest way to sponsor a child is to visit our website at mcfus.childsponsorshipservices.org/. You can also call or email our office to get your sponsorship started. We can be reached at (770) 559-9338 or sponsorship@mcfus.org. To view your online account, click on this Account Login link. If you don’t know your password, you can retrieve it easily using the Forgot Password? link next to the Login button.

Q: HOW MUCH DOES A SPONSORSHIP COST AND HOW CAN I PAY?

A: Our sponsorships are $50 per month. The preferred method of sponsorship payment is by credit or debit card. This is typically a monthly, recurring payment that starts when you first sponsor your child.

Q: WHAT IF I PREFER TO PAY BY CHECK?

A: We welcome check payments!  If you choose to set up a payment by check, you will receive a monthly statement via email as a reminder. Please make your check out to "Mully Child Sponsorship USA" and send to Mully Child Sponsorship Team, P.O.Box 71447, Marietta, GA 30007.

Q: ARE MY CONTRIBUTIONS ELIGIBLE FOR TAX DEDUCTION?

A: Yes! Your sponsorship donation is being processed by Child Sponsorship Services and executed for the Mully child sponsorship program. Child Sponsorship Services is a division of BrightPoint for Children, Inc., a registered 501(c)(3) organization.

All donations and sponsorship payments made to Child Sponsorship Services are 100% tax deductible.  Child Sponsorship Services will issue your year-end donation statement in January for the prior year.

Q: WILL I RECEIVE CORRESPONDENCE FROM MY SPONSORED CHILD AND CAN I WRITE TO THEM?

A: Relationships are at the heart of what we do, so our Mully Child Sponsorship Team will make every effort for you to receive periodic correspondence from your child. It could be a handwritten letter, craft, or electronic communication. With that said, the communities where your child lives may be in a remote area in Kenya and regular correspondence can be challenging. Nonetheless, we will make every effort to ensure that you hear from your child as often as possible.

Corresponding with your child is greatly encouraged! They are always excited to receive letters and photos. We encourage sending pictures throughout the year! Pictures are a great way to tell your child about you or your family.

There are 2 ways to send a letter or photo to your child:

  1. You can log into your sponsorship account and send an email, which will be printed out and translated into your child's language.
  2. You can send your letter and pictures directly to: Mully Child Sponsorship Team, P.O.Box 71447, Marietta, GA 30007.

Q: CAN I SEND GIFTS TO MY CHILD?

A: While letters and photos are strongly encouraged, we do not permit individual gifts to the children. While the intent is heart-felt, a gift to a child causes a number of problems for the children’s home, school and other children in the community. We know that this is a difficult issue, but well-intentioned gifts often do more harm than good. Thank you for understanding as we strive to be responsible with resources in these communities!

Q: CAN I VISIT MY SPONSORED CHILD?

A: One of the highlights of an Mully service trip is the moment when sponsors are able to meet their sponsored children for the first time. We strongly encourage you to consider joining us on a service trip to your sponsored child’s community. You’ll get to meet your child, serve God’s kingdom, and see first hand the challenges your child faces in their daily lives.

We encourage you to spend time learning about your child’s daily life while serving alongside them in the community. To learn more about service trips please go our website: https://mcfus.org/get-involved/come-on-a-trip/.

Q: HOW LONG DOES MY SPONSORSHIP LAST?

A: There’s no specific time limit on your commitment. Generally speaking, children are sponsored through primary school and then secondary school if they qualify. Once a child graduates from secondary school, we will recommend another child to you so that your sponsorship will continue to impact a child within Mully Children's Family.

Q: HOW DO I DISCONTINUE MY SPONSORSHIP?

A: You can discontinue your sponsorship at any time by sending an email to sponsorship@mcfus.org or by phoning us at (770) 559-9338. Once we’re notified, we begin the process of finding a new sponsor so your child’s support can continue uninterrupted. The more lead-time we receive from you, the easier it will be to find a new sponsor to support your child.

Q: HOW CAN I UPDATE MY PAYMENT INFORMATION?

A: Through your online account, you have the ability to make changes to your payment method by clicking here. We can also make the change for you if you call our office at (770) 559-9338.

Q: WHAT ELSE SHOULD I KNOW?

A: Mully Children's Family works in some very difficult and remote places in Kenya. Children in the day center programs in Lodwar, Kipsongo, and Vipingo are very poor with daily challenges beyond what we will ever experience or understand. Despite the opportunity they receive from our sponsors, children run away, drop out of school, become pregnant, get married, leave without notice or don’t show up to write letters. You should know that your child might leave before they reach the end of their sponsorship. While this happens with less than 10% of our sponsorships, sharing this possibility with you is important. We ask that you pray for your child, their family, and their community. Your child will know your name, pray for you, and treasure the letters and pictures they receive. They feel encouraged by being sponsored and their life-path will be different because of your generosity and relationship with them. If your child should happen to leave our program, your sponsorship will be moved to a new child, so that you can continue to help children in the community. If you wish to sponsor a different child than the one we've chosen for you, or if you have any questions regarding your transition, you may call us at (770) 559-9338 or email us at sponsorship@mcfus.org.

Mully Children's Family works to help your child break the vicious cycle of poverty in which they have been living. This starts with approaching development from a biblical worldview, all the while helping address the child’s physical needs of food, water, education, health care, and economic opportunity. Because of your commitment and compassion, you have the opportunity to accompany them on this journey and see true, lasting change in their life!
